Default Speed Up Your Internet Connection - Vista & Windows 7

Having problems with opening a page? You're too fast for your internet connection? Don't want to pay more for a faster speed? Well, here's where EMF and I come in handy.

On your Windows Vista or Windows 7 machine, do the following steps:
    1. Open the command prompt as an administrator. If you can't find it, type cmd in the search box. Right click where is says Command Prompt and run it as an administrator.
    2. In order to view your initial settings, copy and paste:
      netsh interface tcp show global
    3. Then, from an elevated command prompt, type:

netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global chimney=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled

There you go! There is absolutely no need to restart your computer in order to see the changes. It is an instantaneous reaction. Enjoy the instant increase in speed internet connection!

If at any time you want to revert back to your original settings, simply type the following by opening the command prompt in the same manner as described above:

netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=normal
netsh interface tcp set global chimney=enabled
netsh interface tcp set global rss=enabled

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, as usual, let me know through PM or by replying to this thread.

    Your welcome guys.

olaseni, the first time I encountered this method I thought the same thing. I was concerned about the harm that might come along with it. But since implementing this code on my computer for 3 months now, I can safely say that no harm happens to your computer. Everything works the way it used it, just faster! Hope I clear off your doubts.

Do you really think that this will work coz if this would be working people would take a 256KB speed plan and enjoy a 8 MBPS plan...... Just clear it once that is this for real
